The Area

Hanover Place is situated in the heart of Covent Garden, ideally located in the West End. This area is incredibly popular, and with good reason! Covent Garden is bursting with history. It was home to famous writers and artists such as Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. Around the corner on Long Acre road, it became known for coach-makers, care dealers and the site of the first British television broadcast. You can also visit the imposing Art Deco Freemans’ Hall, which is is the headquarters of the United Grand Lodge of England.

There’s plenty to do and many sights to see, with shopping, theatre, and culture right on its doorstep – not to mention the endless places to eat and drink. Covent Garden Market and the pedestrianised piazza is the hub of the area. It’s the perfect place for people watching or shopping in the fabulous boutiques. Top attractions include the Royal Opera House, London Transport Museum and Somerset House. It’s also ideally located to explore nearby hotspots, including The Opera Quarter and Seven Dials.
